Kris and Mindy are junior high sweethearts with a true Notebook Story — made of handwritten letters, long-distance calls, and summers spent outdoors. Today, that same devotion shapes every estate Tropical Haven Property Solutions touches in Sarasota.
Kris
Born in Naples, Florida and raised between Gulf shores and the hills of East Tennessee, Kris has always felt most at home outdoors. As a kid, his days were split between farm chores, neighborhood ball games, and the kitchen — where his lifelong dream of becoming a chef first took root. To this day, he’s just as happy perfecting a recipe as he is refining a planting plan.
An MVP in football, track, and basketball, Kris brings that same discipline and team-first mindset to every estate he cares for. He’s a natural people person who remembers names, stories, and how each client takes their coffee. Whether he’s walking a property line or talking through a lighting concept, his goal is always the same: leave people feeling understood, supported, and excited about what’s possible.
Kris has worked on farms and in the field for most of his life, building over 30 years of hands-on experience with soil, seasons, and the quiet details that separate a nice yard from a true estate landscape. He’s a PADI-certified scuba diver drawn to the water, and his favorite days end with rods, reels, and a fresh catch he can bring home to cook. He is also an avid reptile lover! Kris has two daughters, Erin and Emma, whom he enjoys every minute with them.
Mindy
Mindy grew up in East Tennessee, mostly around Knoxville, where basketball courts, roller rinks, and garden beds shaped her early years. A point guard for 17 seasons, she learned how to read the whole floor, anticipate what’s next, and lead with grace — skills that now translate seamlessly into managing high-touch property care. One of her favorite memories is a chance encounter with legendary coach Pat Summitt in a local grocery store, a brief moment that left a lasting impression.
An avid roller skater since she was in diapers, Mindy is full of life and always in motion. In her early adult years, she lived across Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia, absorbing different landscapes and lifestyles. She recently retired from a 20-year career in the dental field, where her calm presence, meticulous standards, and genuine care for people earned deep trust — qualities she now pours into every Tropical Haven client relationship.
Nature has always been in her blood. Her dad holds a degree in horticulture, and her grandmother raised her in the garden bed. Today, Mindy is a PADI-certified scuba diver who finds peace in the rhythm of the waves, joy in shelling along the shore, and pure happiness in quiet evenings with her two fur babies – XL Bullies, Brutus and Mercedes. While Mindy has no children of her own, she has been a bonus mommy to different children throughout her life. Her passion is dogs, nature and kiddos.
